About
WhyteLiveSound

WhyteLiveSound is a sound equipment and events setup. My name is Ciaran Whyte, I am a current live sound and engineering university student.

Whilst being a student I still have years of experience, which comes from shadowing professional sound engineers in different size venues and productions.

Starting university my course has really pushed me to pursue a career in live sound, the positive of being an on going student whilst hiring out my own equipment is that my knowledge and skills are constantly growing due to the on growing practice I face.

Over the years I have done my own research into PA systems for events and have managed to gather the equipment required to put on many different events that can range from anything such as music gigs, private events and quizzes/parties.

Past Experience And Work

This picture showcases the time I did some engineering with the live sound society at my University.

Using the "SSL Live 300" digital mixing desk we put on a small jazz gig for a four piece band. This involved us placing the correct microphones depending on the instrument.

We then had to make sure there would be no feedback in the venue, so we performed what is called "ringing out" the microphones so feedback was not a worry from this point on.

When it came to the performance the gig was a success with a full enthusiastic audience.

This picture showcases an event that me and a production volunteering group engineered.

This event was for black history month, this was more of a conference presentation event which means it only required one microphone and a good sounding system to project their voice whilst presenting.

This just shows the different uses and events the PA systems can be hired out for, and the size ranges of events that we can engineer.
